Center of Excellence

Starting in 2007, in the annual National Defense Authorization Acts, Congress directed the DoD to establish and continue a number of research Centers of Excellence (CoEs) tasked with conducting scientific studies and to accelerate the translation of research findings into clinical advances. In 2010, these Congressional Special Interest programs were transitioned by DoD into the CRMRP for program management and oversight. CRMRP provides oversight of the Integrative Cardiac Health Project CoE and ensures that the research efforts are focused on areas of high relevance for improving care within the Military Health System.
